Crystal has called Wilmington, NC home for over 33 years. She graduated from UNCW with a degree in Social Work in 2007 and currently works as a Community Outreach Director. Her desire to serve the community, empower people to advocate for themselves, and unite community resources contributed to her desire to advance the mission of Going Beyond the Pink.
Desiree is an Pennsylvania native, but planted roots here in Wilmington NC. She’s been married for 23 years and has two beautiful daughters. While pursuing a career in the medical field after graduating from Miller Motte Business school and holding a Medical Coding and Billing position for a little under a decade, Desiree still carved out time to share in her passion; to organize events, decorate and plan within the community, church and other charitable organizations. Desiree launched her Wedding and Event Planning Business after having served her community as an event planner in a variety of ways.
After cancer decided to enter into Desiree’s family on more than one occasion, she knew she could use her Medical Coding and Billing experience to help those afflicted understand their insurance claims and benefits . After researching Going Beyond the Pink’s programs she knew this is where she was supposed to be. As a member of the Advisory Council, Desiree lends her gift of event planning to the organization and also makes herself available to clients needing help understanding their medical bills and benefits.
