Stress Management
We all deal with stress in some capacity, whether the cause is from work, relationships, well-being, or something else. Let us help you find some stress management tactics through resources we trust.
The National Cancer Institute defines stress as what people feel when they are under mental, physical, and emotional pressure. People who have cancer may find effects of the disease to be stressful, and using stress management techniques can lower levels of depression, anxiety, and symptoms related to cancer and its treatment.
The National Cancer Institute suggests the following:
Relaxation training
Meditation
Counseling
Cancer education sessions
Social support
Medications for depression/anxiety
Exercise
Exercise is one of the best things you can do to stay healthy after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Research has shown that women who exercise before treatment have improved quality of life and fewer side effects.
